Fotis Plegas Gavrilakis

Born in Athens, Fotis Plegas Gavrilakis is a portrait and fashion photographer whose work moves between the intimacy of the human face and the visual language of commercial image-making.

Trained at the Leica Academy of Creative Photography and shaped by masterclasses with some of the industry's most respected voices, including portrait specialist Chris Knight and fashion photographer Lindsay Adler .his practice is grounded in both technical rigor and a deep sensitivity to the people in front of his lens.

His early years as a photojournalist, working with Reuters, Associated Press, and the European Pressphoto Agency, gave him something most commercial photographers never develop: the ability to read a moment before it happens and an instinct for authenticity. the ability to draw out something genuine from a subject rather than simply directing a performance.

Over the past decade, his commercial work has brought him into collaboration with some of the most recognizable names in the beauty and fashion industry. He has worked extensively with the Estée Lauder Companies, across MAC Cosmetics, Kilian Paris, Jo Malone London, and Tom Ford as well as with Greek fashion houses Costarellos, Atelier Loukia, and brands including Vodafone, Samsung, and Piraeus Bank. His portrait commissions span editorial, corporate, and artistic contexts, with work exhibited at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, Technopolis, and the London School of Economics.
